Such a nice little cafe! Wish it had its own space vs sharing with the deli but the baristas are fabulous and the espresso drinks are high quality. Not a place to sit and hang but Alamo square is right up the street.

Barista Coffee & Brunch

Sat towards the back but my table was very well lit despite the distance from the main window!! Lots of tables available on a Sunday afternoon but I wish there were outlets as it was a great studying spot. Ordered the caramel latte which was my preferred flavor of coffee with a hint of sweetness. They were very generous with the salmon on the lox bagel.

Juniper

Juniper

Let me just say Juniper seriously gets it right. I popped in on a sunny morning and ordered the avocado toast, and I’m still thinking about it. This wasn’t your basic avo toast situation—it was layered with flavor, texture, and care. Creamy avocado spread thick on perfectly toasted bread (crisp on the edges, soft in the middle), topped with fresh herbs, and just the right touch of citrus. Every bite was magic. The space itself is warm and inviting, and you can tell the team takes pride in what they’re doing. Everything felt intentional. I didn’t expect to be blown away by avocado toast of all things, but here we are. It’s that good. If you’re in San Francisco, do yourself a favor and stop by. Juniper’s the real deal.

This review is about sustainability only! 🌏 By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And it means a lot to me as a customer to support cafes that are doing better by our local and global ecosystems by way of their dishware. Namely, by not providing an excess of trashy, single use plastic that will head straight for the landfill, incinerator, or water. So thank you for offering, real, reusable mugs, and plates and silverware on site. As well as for the compost receptacle! It also seems that most of your customers order “for here” accordingly, as I see very few people eating in-house with a single use cup, so kudos for communicating and normalizing the option! That said, it could never hurt to keep asking customers if they will be enjoying their beverage to stay, so as to prevent more needless trash. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for being mindful, and for setting a precedent for how other businesses here and abroad can act. PS: the coffee and toast were delicious!

Sweet Maple

The food and atmosphere was amazing here! Try their SMSF pancakes, which are thin and soft with maple syrup, we added the berries topping with extra 5 dollars, it was worth it!! Well roasted coffee with sweet pancakes were perfect match! It’s my second time visiting SF, can’t believe I found such a cute brunch cafe. I kept asking for my coffee to be refilled, and we’ve waited for the server to ask for the check, however I understood it was a busy restaurant The only thing surprised and confused, they take 6%of your purchase for employees benefits fee 🙏

Tartine Inner Sunset

Tartine Inner Sunset

A perfect breakfast spot from the Tartine family, located just steps from Golden Gate Park. It’s an ideal place for a relaxing weekend morning. Whether you’re grabbing a delicious sandwich or pastry, or sitting down for a proper, healthy, and flavorful breakfast, everything is top-notch. The coffee is excellent, too—rich and well-crafted. That’s exactly why I love this place so much.
